EcoSummit 2016 will centre on the ecology of terrestrial ecosystems and all habitats that are integrated within those ecosystems, including river networks, wetlands and coastlines. Focus will be placed on fragile ecosystems that are more likely to suffer the consequences of climate change and anthropogenic pressure.
The Circular Ocean partner Norwegian partner, NTNU, will present at this event. They will show a material flow model for estimating quantities of plastics in fishnets in end of life processes. The model illustrates an approach to help estimate how many nets end up in the sea, landfill, incineration, reuse and recycling. This is useful both for further estimating impacts on marine organisms as well as identify the economic potential in each region/country.
